Colfax – George Orlich, 79, a resident of Colfax for 10 years and former Newton resident, died Wednesday, July 30, at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.
The Rev. Eldon Nolte, pastor of the Colfax United Methodist church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the McKeever Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the Colfax First United Methodist church Sunday school will be accepted.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Friday. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Survivors are a brother, Eli of Colfax; and two sisters, Minnie Kappelman of Des Moines and Anna Snetselaar of Colfax.
H was preceded in death by his first wife, Selma; second wife, Venita; parents, a brother and four sisters.
Mr. Orlich, a former Maytag Co. employee, was a retired employee of the University of Arizona.
The son of Mike and Mary Banjac Orlich, he was born July 2, 1907 at Colfax and attended Colfax schools.
He was married to Selma Person April 30, 1930 and, following her death, he was married to Venita Longellier.
Mr. Orlich had resided in Tucson, Ariz., for 25 years.
