Harriett Oswalt Died Saturday March 25
Mrs. James A. (Harriett Littleford) Oswalt, 70, a resident of the Colfax Community for many years, died Saturday, March 25th at the Evangelical Hospital in Marshalltown, Iowa.
Harriett Littleford, daughter of Chas. and Emma Conway, was born April 2nd, 1890 at Des Moines, Iowa. She joined the Methodist Church at an early age, and on October 25, 1908 was united in marriage to James A. Oswalt.
To this union two daughters were born, one daughter Lucille, preceding her in death. Surviving are her husband, James A. Oswalt, one daughter, Mrs. Evelyn L. Gummert of Marshalltown, Iowa, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Ethel Eikins of Skokie, Ill., two brothers, Charles Conway of Des Moines and William Conway of Colfax, plus a host of friends also mourn her passing.
Funeral services were conducted from the Walters Funeral Home in this city at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 28th, with Rev. E. Harold Jackson, pastor of the Methodist Church officiating.
Bearers wee Russell Borts, Clifford Donaldson, Robert Dooley, Faye Pierce, Tom Wilson and Tom Roberts.
Burial was in McKeever Cemetery north of Colfax.
