Dale Noe Dies In Plane Crash Tuesday
Dale Noe, 40, of this city, was killed Tuesday, February 11th, when the light plane he was flying crashed as he was approaching the runway of the Wichita, Kansas airport for landing.
Mr. Noe was on a business flight for the Monroe Table Co. of Colfax. It has been reported the wings on the plane became iced up, causing the crash.
Noe served in the capacity of purchasing agent for the local firm, where he had been employed the past 20 years.
He was born May 18, 1934 at Deadwood, North Dakota. He is survived by his wife, Mary and two children, Cynthia and Tim, and his parents.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 13th at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home.

Services Held For Dale Noe
Dale L. Noe, 40, of Colfax, was killed Tuesday, February 11, when his single engine airplane crashed while attempting to land at the Wichita, Kansas airport.
The accident occurred during a light, freezing drizzle.
Authorities said that Noe was on an instrument flight from Des Moines to Wichita early Tuesday.
Noe was purchasing agent for the Monroe Co. in Colfax and was on company business. He had been employed by the Colfax folding table manufacturer for more than 20 years.
The cause of the crash has not been determined.
The manager of the Wichita airport said the plane’s wings apparently iced up during the flight.
The crash occurred in an open field about a half-mile from the airport runway. There was no fire but investigating officials said the plane was destroyed in the crash.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 13, at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.
The Rev. Robert Cook, pastor of the Colfax Presbyterian Church, conducted the services. Burial was in the McKeever Cemetery, north of Colfax.
Survivors are his wife, Mary; a son, Timothy Dale Noe of Colfax; a daughter, Cynthia Elizabeth Noe of McPhearson, Kansas; his mother, Mrs. Marice Noe of Mingo; and his father, Lewis Noe.
Also surviving are three brothers, the Rev. Dwight of Hopewell, Va., Darrell Noe of Mingo, and Dennis Noe of Mingo; and four sisters, Mrs. Charles (Darlene) Shaffer of Ira, Mrs. Dwane (Dolores) Brinegar of Ottumwa, Mrs. Jack (Bonnie) Bucklin of Ira and Diane Noe of Mingo.
Mr. Noe was a member of the Colfax First Presbyterian church, the Colfax Masonic Lodge and the Newton Elks Club.
The son of Lewis and Marice Pitsenberger Noe, he was born May 18, 1934 in Deadwood, South Dakota and was a 1953 graduate of Mingo Community High School.
He was married to Mary Catherine Ferguson June 19, 1954 in Colfax.
