Colfax, Iowa – Harold E. Maxwell, 86, of Colfax, died Wednesday, Dec. 9 at his home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colfax with the Rev. Phil Cardenzana officiating. Burial will be in McKeever Cemetery in Colfax.
Visitation will be held at the church after 3 p.m. Friday with scripture services to follow at 7 p.m. The Walters-Coburn funeral Home in Colfax is handling arrangements.
Memorials to Hospice of Central Iowa will be accepted.
The son of Bert and Olive Banta Maxwell, he was born March 14, 1912 in Mingo.
He married Eva Katherine Gibson March 17, 1934 in Des Moines.
A lifelong resident of Jasper County, Mr. Maxwell resided in Mingo and Colfax. He was employed by John Deere in Ankeny and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic church in Colfax.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Ann and Stanley Smith and Nancy Kay and Ron Bruxvoort, all of Colfax; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marilyn Doty of Mingo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers and four sisters.
