PRAIRIE CITY — Shirley A. Cade, 68, of Prairie City died at her home Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005, surrounded by her family.

Graveside services were held today at Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City. Chaplain Merle Smith of Skiff Medical Center in Newton officiated. Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City handled arrangements.

Memorial gifts may be given to Hospice of Jasper County.

The daughter of Hobart and Elsie (Scott) Williams, she was born Sept. 27, 1936. On June 28, 1952, she married James Cade in Yuma, Ariz. She worked for 20 years as a medication aide at Clearview Manor, then worked several years at Nichols Pharmacy and spent eight years working for Fosters Grocery Store before retiring in 1998.

She enjoyed gardening and bowling. She was a resident of Prairie City for more than 40 years.

Survivors include her four children, James (Ann) Cade Jr. of Tulsa, Okla., Patricia (Mike) Burns of Prairie City, Cindy (Bruce) Dennis of Prairie City, and Kitty (Craig) Hartson of Broken Arrow, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Maxine Noble of Fort Mohave, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother and three sisters.
