Michel “Mickey” Kay Tool Daniels, 80, of Monroe died of complications from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Sunday at home. A Celebration of Life is being planned later in April. Memorial contributions may be made to the Monroe Methodist Church.

Mrs. Daniels was born in Newton, Iowa on August 15, 1942 the only child of Charles Herwehe Tool and Irma Jean Rickabaugh and lived on the family farm outside of Monroe. She enjoyed sewing and crafting, was an avid genealogy researcher, loved her Arabian Horses, and Great Pyrenees dogs. Charlie, her current fur baby, was her biggest bestest boy.

Before moving back to Monroe in 1973 she worked for Woolworth Company and the Chesapeake Potomac Telephone Company. After returning to Iowa, she worked for attorney Paul Vos of Mitchellville, Iowa, and was a later a Federal Employee working for the Veterans Home in Knoxville, the US Army Recruiting Command, the IRS, and the Social Security Administration where she medically retired.

She is survived by her husband Thomas Milton Daniels; a daughter Tisha Lee Daniels, (David) Thurman of Tucson, Arizona; a son Thomas Christopher (Kim Cameron) Daniels Sr. of Monroe; and nine grandchildren, two step grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Irma Tool.
