Died – At his home three miles southwest of Colfax, Monday, January 19, 1885, John Woods, aged 75 years and 9 months.
Mr. Woods was a pioneer citizen of his neighborhood, and was well known and universally respected. He was born in Knoxville, Tennessee. The funeral took place Tuesday, and the remains were laid to rest in the west end of the orchard on the home place, but will be taken up in the spring and moved to the cemetery east of Prairie City.
