Mrs. Louisa Carter died Jan. 21, 1893. Louisa Singleton was born Nov. 6th, 1815, in Montgomery county, North Carolina. She moved with her parents in an early day to Indiana, where she was married to Morgan Carter, who died about four years ago. They moved to Iowa in the spring of 1849, and settled in Marion county, and lived there for about one year and then moved to this county and bought land of the government with a land warrant that he obtained for services in the Mexican War. On this land they made a home where they both lived until their death.
