Funeral Services for E. R. Hutchinson are today (Thursday) in Canistota

Funeral services for E. R. (Hutch) Hutchinson will be held (today) Thursday, Dec. 21, 1967 at 2:00 p.m. in the Canistota Presbyterian Church with Rev. Rodney Gist and Rev. Wayne Parry officiating. Music will be furnished by Mrs. Arlene Ortman, organist, and Mr. Alvin Scott, vocalist. Burial in Canistota Cemetery with Kinzley Funeral Home of Salem in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Walter Stevens, Howard Scott, Marvin McKay, Lou Noordsy, Kenneth Thomas, and Romaine Mohr.

Ellsworth R. Hutchinson, son of William and Anna Hutchinson, was born at Kellogg, Iowa on May 27, 1895. He grew to manhood in this area and on July 3, 1918, was united in marriage to Miss Sadie Wilhelm at Chester, Iowa.

Mr. Hutchinson served in the U. S. Army during World War I and following the service they farmed in the Madison, Montrose and Canistota areas, and for about 23 years, Mr. Hutchinson was a trucker with the Sioux Falls Rendering Company retiring in 1961.

He had been in failing health for the past year following a stroke and died suddenly in Kingman, Arizona while visiting his daughter, Mrs. Maurice Burnham. He attained the age of 72 years, 6 months, and 27 days.

He was a member of Canistota Methodist Church, the Canistota I.O.O.F., and former member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mona (Mrs. Maurice Burnham) of Kingman, Ariz., Betty (Mrs. Wendell Anderson) of Canistota; one son Earl of Madison, S. D.; Eight grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; Three brothers, Frank of Alden, Ia.; Lloyd of Kellogg, Ia.; Elmer of Alta, Ia.; Five sisters, Mrs. Lily Benskin, Grinnell, Ia.; Mrs. Nora Lohr of Ft. Dodge, Ia.; Mrs. Alice Chalstrom of Ft. Dodge, Ia.; Mrs. Myrtle Faircloth of Marshalltown, Ia.; Mrs. Zella Bergeson of Whittemore, Ia.; He was also preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
