Baxter, Iowa – Funeral services for Howard Pyle, 62, of rural Baxter, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Baxter.
The Rev. Gene Bucklin will conduct services. Burial will be in Ashton Cemetery in Baxter.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Boyd-Davis Funeral Home in Baxter where the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Howard Pyle Memorial Fund.
Mr. Pyle died Sunday afternoon, Feb. 16, at his home.
Born April 11, 1934, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Glen V. and Mable Huffaker Pyle. He graduated from Baxter High School in 1953.
He married Ruth Fowler May 3, 1957, in Marlow, Okla.
Mr. Pyle served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957 where he was stationed at Fort Sill, Okla. He and his wife returned to Baxter shortly after their marriage where they began farming and have resided ever since.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kathy (Mrs. Chris) Fuller of Groesbeck, Texas; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Betty Crawford, who died in 1990.
