Mrs. Streeter, 58, Dies, Funeral Services Toady
State Center – Mrs. Joe (Ruth) Streeter, 58, died Tuesday morning, July 23 at Community Hospital West, Marshalltown, where she had entered the previous day.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday from the United Methodist Church, with the Rev. L. L. Musser in charge. Burial will be in the Ashton Chapel Cemetery, west of Baxter. Pallbearers will be Ron German, Max Streeter, Richard Jay, Gary Streeter, Donald Streeter and Ronald Streeter.
Brimhall-West Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Streeter was born Jan. 10, 1916 in Farmingdale, S.D., the daughter of Samuel and Grace Stock Barber. She spent her early life in South Dakota and graduated from high school at Rapid City. She was a graduate of Kansas University and was a legal secretary in Kansas City, Mo. for many years.
She married Joe Streeter on Dec. 29, 1951 in Texas and they came to State Center in January of 1952. She was active in community affairs as long as health permitted and also assisted her husband at the State Center Locker. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America and the Legal Secretary’s organization.
Surviving are her widower, two brothers, Paul Barber of Sun City, Ariz. and Donald Barber of Portland, Ore., and also several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
