Colfax – James Monroe Streeter was born in Clear Creek township in 1872, died at his home in Des Moines, Nov. 22, 1907, after a short illness of congestion of the liver. The funeral was conducted from the Ashton church by Rev. Robert Boyd of Mingo. Interment was in the cemetery nearby. Beautiful floral offering covered the casket.
