Carl Streeter Services Are Set Thursday
Funeral services for Carl Streeter, 71, of 208 1st St. S., a lifelong resident of Jasper County, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.
The Rev. Ray Barnett, pastor of the First Christian Church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Ashton Cemetery in Baxter.
Friends may call at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home after noon today.
Survivors are his wife, Ada; a son, Jack of Newton; a daughter, Mrs. Sue Morgan of Havre, Mont.; a granddaughter, Mrs. Donald (Shelley) Buhrow of San Diego, Calif.; and two sisters, Mrs. John C. Stouffer of Helena, Mont., and Mrs. Ivan Mullihan of Collins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Streeter was a member of the First Christian Church, the Izaak Walton League, a charter member of the Maytag Speech Club and was honored for 25 years service at the Maytag Co. in 1959 and 30 years service in 1964.
The son of Andrew J. and Lela M. Walker Streeter, he was born Jan. 14, 1903 at Newton and was a graduate of Mingo High School. He attended Newton Normal Training School and taught in Jasper County schools for a number of years before joining the Maytag Co. in 1932.
He was married to Ada L. Holeman May 6, 1925 in Des Moines.
He died Tuesday morning.
