Francis Gibson Rites Saturday; dies on Thursday
Colfax – Funeral services for Francis Charles Gibson, 71, a lifelong resident of the Colfax community, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colfax.
The Rev. Omer Woltering, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the McKeever Cemetery, north of Colfax.
Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home.
He died Thursday at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Harold (Eva) Maxwell, Mrs. Jack (Mary) Freestone and Mrs. Orval (Frieda) Teed, all of Colfax, and Mrs. Melvin (Margaret) Guy of Mitchellville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Gibson, a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, was a retired employee of the Vernon Co. in Newton.
The son of George and Margaret Kennedy Gibson, he was born Mar. 12, 1910 in Oswalt.
