L. G. Gearhart Dies on Tuesday; Rites Thursday
Colfax – Leslie George Gearhart, 72, of rural Colfax, a longtime resident of the Colfax community, died Tuesday morning at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.
The Rev. John McKinstry, pastor of the Christian Church in Colfax, will conduct services. Burial will be in the McKeever Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Lucille; two sons, Marvin and Harry, both of Newton; four daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Byrnadeen) Failor and Mrs. Newell (Jane) Wolf, both of Newton, Mrs. Kenneth (Shirley) Fifer of Branson, Mo., and Mrs. Donald (Roberta) Emery of Drepel, Mo.; 19 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Ray of Newton and Dale of Colfax, and a sister, Dolly Mackerman of Newton.
The son of Harry L. and Elizabeth Balmer Gearhart, he was born June 9, 1907 in Newton.
He was married to Lucille Adkins Feb. 21, 1958 in Colfax.
