James P. Evans died last Wednesday, at his home in Oswalt; aged 76 years, a victim of paralysis with which he has long been afflicted. Mr. Evans’ name appeared in our paper only last week appended to a card of thanks to friends for their kindness to his dead son, James M., the young man whose death resulted from the injury received in the coal mine, and the life of the father was undoubtedly cut short by worry and grief. Mr. Evans is well known hereabouts and those who knew him have only words of esteem and respect for the good old man. His funeral took place today, and the interment was at McKeever cemetery, where his son was buried on the 9th, inst.
