Ethel Deskin Dies Tuesday; Rites Friday
Colfax – Mrs. Harry (Ethel Mae) Deskin, 88, a longtime resident of Colfax, died Tuesday at Independence, Mo.
Graveside rites will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the McKeever Cemetery north of Colfax.
The Rev. Jim Pemble, pastor of the Colfax United Methodist Church, will conduct services.
Survivors are three sons, Norman of Fayetteville, Ark., Harry of New York, N.Y., and Donald of Des Moines; a daughter, Marian Atcheson of Blue Springs, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and two sisters, Minnie Haddon of Albia and Hazel Angell of Knoxville.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1965.
The daughter of William and Sarah Toye Haddon, she was born Nov. 19, 1891 in Avery and was educated in Avery schools.
She was married May 29, 1909 in Avery.
