Hartley V. Collins Dies Monday
Hartley Vern Collins, 63, of Colfax died Monday March 10, 1975 at the Skiff Hospital in Newton.
Funeral services will be held Thursday (today) March 13, 2:00 p.m. at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax with Rev. Robert Jones conducting the services. Burial will be in McKeever Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife; four sons, Robert and Marion of Lynnville, Iowa, David of Newton and Roger who is serving in the U.S. Army’ two daughters, Mr. John (Sara) Cones and Mrs. David (Sharon) Hobbs, both of Newton; one brother, Kenneth Collins of Waterloo, two sisters, Mrs. Barry C. Cleo Hundley and Mrs. John (Josephine) Crawford both of Unionville, Mo.; a half-sister, Mrs. Erma Fauniker of Winna, Wash. and ten grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
The son of Luther and Allie Knowles Collins he was born October 5, 1911 at Powersville, Mo.
He was married to Nona Patton, August 4, 1939 in Unionville, Mo.
Organist – Mrs. Frank B. Evans. Soloist – Edward J. Gannon.
Bearers – Stanley Smith, Royal Duncan, Wm. Harden, Jack Good, Forrest Klingensmith and Cecil McVay.

Services Today For Hartley V. Collins
Harley V. Collins of Colfax died Monday evening. A Maytag retiree, he was 63. Services will be held today at 2 p.m. in the Colfax Walters Funeral Home and burial will be in McKeever cemetery. He had been in ill health for some time.
Mr. Collins first worked for the company in 1950 in Die-casting. His continuous service began in January, 1952, when he worked in automatic assembly. He worked in several Plant 2 departments before transferring to receiving in 1958, where he remained until retiring in 1971. Mr. Collins had served as a union steward.
In addition to his widow, Nona, survivors include four sons, two daughters, a brother, two sisters and a half-sister.
