The remains of Mrs. John Cline were brought here last Tuesday for the funeral service which was from the M.E. church, conducted by Rev. B. C. Kellar, of Bondurant, and the interment was in McKeever cemetery. Her maiden name was Mary M. Barker; she was a native of LaGrange county, Indiana, and was aged 60 years, 6 months and 28 days. She was married to John Cline February 14, 1857, and of the seven children of this union four remain – one a daughter.
On a trip to Washington, some time ago, Mr. and Mrs. Cline were in a railroad wreck in which she sustained a broken rib and this, with the shock to her nervous system, laid the foundation for her fatal illness. Her death occurred at the home of her daughter, five miles north of Bondurant last Sunday.
Besides her husband and children she leaves, to mourn her loss, a sister, Mrs. John Sperling, and a brother, Mr. J. T. Barker, both of Valeria. She was a member of the M.E. church and a consistent Christian from her 18th year. – Valeria News Items
