Death of Brother
Dr. Elmer E. Black of this city received word Tuesday evening of the death of his brother, Clarence Black, 72, at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. The latter had been ill but a short time, and death was caused by pneumonia.
Mr. Black was a former resident of this community, living north of the city for a while and operating a lumber yard at Mingo seven years ago. Since that time he has managed yards for the Denniston & Partridge Co. in various towns about the state.
Survivors include two children, Robert and Mrs. Mary Beth Stewart, both residents of California, and one brother, Dr. Black of this city.
Funeral services will be held at the Bumgardner Chapel in Colfax Friday afternoon at 2:00, with Rev. W. L. Hawn officiating. Burial will be in the McKeever cemetery north of the city.
