COLLINS - Jill Lynn Carter, 44, of Collins, died Thursday, Oct. 17, at her home from complications of multiple sclerosis.

A graveside memorial service was held today, Oct. 21, at Gosport Cemetery in Knoxville, Glenna Patterson and Waneta McConnell officiating. The body has been cremated. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax is in charge of arrangements.

Jill Lynn Carter was born Aug. 5, 1958, in Pella to Wilbur Mathes and Glenna Anderson Mathes. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1976. She was a supervisor at McCurdy Seed in Fremont. She married Craig L. Carter Aug. 29, 1986, in Newton. She had lived in Collins the past eight years.

She is survived by her father and stepmother: Wilbur and Janet Mathes of Chariton; her husband, Craig Carter of Collins; two stepsons: William Joe and David Allen Carter, both of Newton; and two brothers: Barry Mathes of Pella and Wesly Mathes of Madrid.

She was preceded in death by her mother.
