SULLY - Betty J. Rozenboom, 69, died Friday morning at her home, 9543 E. 120th St. S., Sully.

Her funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. today at Sully Community Church, Pastor Jerry Morningstar officiating. Burial: Sully Cemetery. Memorials: Hospice of Grinnell or the American Stroke Association. Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Betty Jean Elscott was born Nov. 4, 1932, near Taintor to Gysbert "Guy" and Rena Terpstra Elscott. She attended Case Country Grade School.

On Sept. 2, 1954, she married Henry James Rozenboom at the Open Bible Church in Pella. In 1959, the couple moved to his parents' farm south of Sully, where they lived the rest of their married life together.

Betty was a homemaker and in later years did baby-sitting and was a meal server at Sully Christian Grade School. In 1992, she suffered a stroke. She attended Sully Community Church.

She enjoyed Southern Gospel music, traveling, gardening, doing embroidery and shopping.

She is survived by her husband, Henry; a daughter and son-in-law, Sheryl and Paul Parmley of Grinnell; a son and daughter-in-law, Galen and Peggy Rozenboom of Sully; two grandchildren, Bradley and Kelsey Rozenboom; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Carroll and Esther Elscott, Lester and Marilyn Elscott, all of Pella.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Glen Renaud.
