KANAWHA - Elizabeth J. De Kruyff, 85, formerly of Otley, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt.

Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Otley Reformed Church, the Rev. Vance Elzinga officiating. Burial: Sully Cemetery, Sully. Memorials: Otley Reformed Church. Visiting hours are open today at Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella, with family present 6-8 p.m. today.

Elizabeth Johanna Van Dyke was born Nov. 20, 1916, in Albia to Cornelius R. (Case) and Kathryn (Kate) Bandstra Van Dyke. She attended grade school in Albia and graduated from eighth grade in Kellogg.

On Dec. 14, 1937, she married Peter De Kruyff at her parents' home near Kellogg. They farmed near Sully for four years, then moved to Kellogg, where they lived and farmed for 11 years. In 1953 they moved to a farm near Otley, where they lived until 1969, when they moved into Otley. Elizabeth was a homemaker. On July 31, 1974, Peter died.

In September 2001, Elizabeth moved in with her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Marilyn, near Kanawha. She moved to the Kanawha Community Home on Aug. 13, 2002. She was a member of the Otley Reformed Church.

She is survived by three children and spouses: Bill and Marilyn Nibbelink De Kruyff of Kanawha, Helen L. and Cornie Den Hartog of Pella, and Peter R. and Marie De Kruyff of Otley; two daughters-in-law: Lila (James H.) De Kruyff of Otley and Judith Blommers (Paul) De Kruyff of Pella; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Martha (Paul Van Dyke) Hoksbergen of Pella.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons: James H. and Paul; a granddaughter, Brenda De Kruyff; her parents; eight brothers: Jacob in infancy, Jacob, Paul and Benjamin Van Dyke, twins Geert and Henry, Gert Van Dyke and a baby brother; and two sisters: Gertrude (Paul) De Penning and Cornelia Jacobs.
