PRAIRIE CITY---Funeral services for Jerry P. Krueger, 64, of Prairie City, owner of Instant Letter East in Prairie City, were held today, Jan. 3, at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City.

The Rev. Robert Taber of Des Moines conducted services and burial was in Canfield Cemetery near Ivy.

Mr. Krueger died Sunday in the Iowa Methodist Care Facility in Des Moines.

Survivors are his wife, Betty; two sons, Jerry Dane of Prairie City and Kurt of Walsenberg, Colo.; a daughter Kirsten Williams of Tebbetts, Mo.; six grandchildren; a brother Dan of Pensacola, Fla.; and his father William Ferdinand Krueger of Pensacola, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a son, Kris.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 729 in Des Moines, the Prairie City Lions Club and the Prairie City Business Association.

He retired from the Army with the rank of sergeant first class after serving in World War II, the Korean War, and the Viet Nam War.

The son of William Ferdinand and Lenna Packer Krueger, he was born Sept. 18, 1924 in Des Moines and was a 1942 graduate of Des Moines East High School.

He was married to Betty Free May 25, 1946.
