Melvin Erskin, 62, of 2940 Maple St. died of a heart ailment Monday at his home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Grandview Park Baptist Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Vandalia Cemetery.
Mr. Erskin, a lifelong Des Moines resident, was retired from Younkers Department Store.
He is survived by a sister, Ina Williams, and two brothers, Arlo and Hugh, all of Des Moines.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Regular Baptist Camp at Clear Lake.
