Fred Jefferson Hensley, 87, of Marshalltown died of pneumonia Sunday at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Iowa Veterans Home chapel, and burial will be in Vandalia Cemetery.
Mr. Hensley, who retired as an engineer at Veterans Memorial Auditorium, was born in Rembrandt and lived in the Des Moines area most of his life until moving to Marshalltown in 1987. He was a veteran of the Army.
Surviving are his wife, Colista; five daughters, Barbara Williams of Las Vegas, Nev., Janet Clinton of Bakersfield, Calif., and Nancy Andresen, Wilma Overton and Judy Hemingson, all of Des Moines; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home in Des Moines, where the family will greet friends from 4 to 6 p.m.
