Jerry Harris, 69, died Saturday, August 20, 2005 at his home. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at Vandalia Cemetery in Vandalia, Iowa.
Jerry was born in Des Moines. He attended Grace Church and was a member of the NRA and attended B.S.F. He enjoyed stamp and coin collecting, fishing, antiques, gardening, travel and history. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, papa and friend.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Birdie Harris of Pleasant Hill; daughter, Brenda Brown of Altoona; granddaughter, Danielle (Joshua) Van Riper of Des Moines; grandson, Tyler Brown of Altoona; great-grandchild, Skyler Van Riper of Des Moines; brother, Ron (Keri) Harris of Cedar Rapids; sister, Donna Harris of Pueblo, CO; and a mother-in-law, Alberta Hartley of Melrose.
Visitation will be held after 5 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2005 with family present 5 to 7 p.m. at Grandview Park Funeral Home.
