Gary L. Harker, 25, of the 1900 block of Casady Drive died of multiple organ failure Thursday at Broadlawns Medical Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rising Sun Church of Christ, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Vandalia Cemetery.
Mr. Harker was born in Des Moines and had lived here most of his life. He was a printer with Edwards Graphic Art. He enjoyed biking, working on cars and played on his company’s softball team.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Linda Lamb and Jerry Puffenbarger of Lake City, Fla.; his father and stepmother, Harold Jr. and Donna Harker of Des Moines; a sister, Julie Pettigrew of Emporia, Kan.; a stepbrother, Matthew of Winterset; and his grandparents, Harold Sr. and Beverly Harker of West Des Moines, Shirley and Frank Nelson of Lake Butler, Fla., and Meda Lamb and Gail Decker, both of Des Moines.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home.
