Rose Bowers, 93, of Mitchellville died of a heart ailment Wednesday at Mitchell Village Care Center there. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Mitchellville United Methodist Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Vandalia Cemetery in Vandalia.
Mrs. Bowers was born in Milton, Mo., and had lived in the Mitchellville area all her life. She was a homemaker and a retired teacher. She had been a church organist and choir director for many years and was a member of United Methodist Women. She enjoyed teaching and family and church activities.
She is survived by a son, Robert of Lacey, Wash.; a brother, Edwin Warren of Altoona; two sisters, Hazel Wilson and Grayce Martin, both of Des Moines; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Mitchellville Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
