Gladys C. Bowers, 81, of 4146 E. 32nd St. died of a heart ailment Saturday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Staves Memorial United Methodist Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Vandalia Cemetery in Vandalia.
Mrs. Bowers was born in Des Moines. She was a homemaker and a member of T.O.P.S.
Surviving are two sons, Alvie and Donald, and a daughter, Patricia Stokes, all of Des Moines; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Merle Hay Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
