Paul Howard Rench, 70, of New Sharon died of a heart ailment Wednesday at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. The body was cremated, and graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ashton Chapel Cemetery in Mingo.
Mr. Rench was born in Ames and had lived in Des Moines most of his life before moving to New Sharon a month ago. He was a construction worker, an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and AmVets. He enjoyed hunting and gardening.
A sister, Hazel Farnum of New Sharon, survives.
His companion was Betty Harris of Des Moines.
Hamilton’s Funeral Home in Des Moines is handling arrangements.
