Howard Taft Maxwell, 83, of Salem, Ore., died there Thursday of complications of Alzheimer’s disease. Services will be today at 3 p.m. at Lancaster Assembly of God Church in Salem, Iowa; services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Ashton Chapel north of Mingo. Mr. Maxwell was born in Clear Creek Township in Jasper County and lived there until moving to Salem in 1956.

Howard Taft Maxwell, 83, of Salem, Ore., died of pneumonia there Thursday. Memorial services were held Saturday in Lancaster, Ore., and Sunday at Ashton chapel north of Mingo. Mr. Maxwell was born in Jasper County and moved to Oregon in 1956. Howell-Edwards-Doerksen Chapel of the Gardens in Salem handled arrangements.
