Mary Pauline Elrod Loomis-Powers
Pauline, the daughter of Carl and Myra Elrod was born September 28, 1918 in Prairie City, Iowa. She went to be with her Lord on December 7, 2005 at her home in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 87.
She was united in marriage to her beloved Neal Loomis on October 25, 1941 in Prairie City, Iowa. To them four children were born, Terry (Jo) of Harrogate, England; Miles (Anne) of Des Moines, Iowa; Dwight (Lenna) of Carlisle, Iowa; and Deborah (Larry) Little of Carthage, Missouri. Pauline married Lawrence Powers of Des Moines, Iowa on August 2, 1993.
Surviving are her four children, two brothers, Lester Elrod and John Elrod; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, and her husbands.
Pauline accepted the Lord in 1929 at the Prairie City Church of the Brethren and has served her Lord faithfully since then. Neal and Pauline served as deacons in their church. She has been a beautiful testimony of Christian living for her family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2005, at the Prairie City Church of the Brethren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Grandview Park Funeral Home.
