Emma Clement, 103, of Maxwell, died Sunday, September 21, 2003 at Story County Long Term Care in Nevada, Iowa. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell with Rev. Don Burket officiating. Burial will be in the Graham Cemetery near Mingo.
Emma was born March 2, 1900 in Minnesota, the daughter of Garner and Mary (Eatwell) Mills. She was united in marriage to Clarence Clement in 1918. Clarence died in 1943. She later married Fred Mead in 1961. Fred died in 1969. Emma had lived in the Farrar and Mingo area until moving to Collins in 1961. She was a member of the Collins Christian Church and the Ada Circle. Emma was a homemaker and enjoyed sacred music.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sharon Clement of Bondurant, Iowa; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Helen and Ira Link of Maxwell; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; and six sisters, her twin sister, Edna McNeer, Mae Davis, Pearl Phillips, Iva Mills, Jesse McIntosh and Viola Clement.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell. Memorials may be made to Story County Long Term Care.
