Doris Pauline Blood, 87, of Mitchellville died of cancer Friday at a family member’s home in Prairie City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Altoona Christian Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Griffis Cemetery in Prairie City.
Mrs. Blood was born in Prairie City and had lived in Altoona before moving to Mitchellville 22 years ago. She was a homemaker and enjoyed church activities and gardening.
She is survived by a son, Martin of Liberty, Mo.; two daughters, Sharon Doolittle of Prairie City and Susan Lawrence of Carlisle; two brothers, Beryl Berkenbosch of Adel and Dale Berkenbosch of Prairie City; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donovan.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Altoona Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
