Gail Ann Baker, 34, of the 1100 block of Douglas Avenue died of a heart ailment Sunday at Mercy Medical Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, with burial at Union Chapel Cemetery in Ira.
Mrs. Baker was born in Newton and had lived in Des Moines most of her life. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, John II; two daughters, Laura Maple and Alyssa Baker, and a son, Johnathan Baker, all of Des Moines; her mother and stepfather, Carolyn and Gary Mahl, and her father, Lester Novak, all of Newton; two sister, Linda Braaksma of Belle Plaine, Kan., and Gwendolyn Rotschafer of Atlanta; a brother, Allen Mahl, and two half-sisters, Brenda Novak and Kristi Novak, all of Newton; and her grandmother, Genevieve Beauier of Green Bay Wis.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
