Charley Tait Rites Thursday
Funeral services for Charley Tait, 82, of Collins, a resident of the Colonial Manor in Baxter since 1979 and longtime Jasper County farmer, were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at the Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home in Baxter.
The Rev. Bob Hinshaw, pastor of the Ashton Chapel east of Baxter, conducted the services. Burial was in St. John’s Cemetery, north of Newton,
He died Monday at Marshalltown East Hospital.
Survivors are a niece, Mrs. Grover (Gladys) Hertzberg of Des Moines; and a nephew, Arthur Steus of Edina, Minn.
Mr. Tait was a member of St. John’s Christian Church and attended Ashton Chapel.
The son of Charles C. and Agnes Brisel Tait, he was born Oct. 18, 1897 in Jasper County.
