John Goodell, age 92, passed away Friday morning at the Resthaven Nursing Home in Newton. Funeral services were Monday afternoon in Newton and burial at the Union Chapel Cemetery near Ira. He was the last of a pioneer family of this community.
One niece by marriage, Mrs. Ray Porter of Nevada, formerly of Colfax, survives. His folks, Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Porter Goodell, 3 sisters, Mrs. Cynthia Porter, Mrs. Mamie Yarm and Mrs. Luella Crabtree preceded him in death.
He lived all his life in this community until his health failed and he was taken to the home in Newton several years ago.
