Bertha Rose, daughter of W. A. and Albert (sic) Witmer, died at her home in Mingo, Ia., Tuesday, Sept. 16, 1913, victim of an abscess in her head, in her 34th year. Her life was one of constant affliction and suffering, but she bore her burden with resignation and patience, hopeful of a better life beyond the tomb.
She had been a member of the M. E. church since 1897. Besides her father and devoted stepmother she leaves one sister, Carrie, her mother having passed away before Bertha was two years old. The impressive funeral services wre from the Mingo M. E. church, conducted by Rev. W. W. Williams and the interment was at her birthplace, Greencastle, last Friday. A large number of relatives and friends attending the obsequies every detail of which had been arranged and provided for by deceased previous to her passing.
