Mrs. Bowie Rites Held at Colfax
Colfax (Special) – Funeral services for Mrs. George (Grace) Bowie, 67, a resident of the Colfax community for 17 years, were held Monday at Bumgardner Funeral Home in Colfax.
The Rev. E. H. Jackson, pastor of the Colfax Methodist church, conducted the services. Burial was in McKeever cemetery.
Mrs. George Ringer, the soloist, was accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Frank B. Evans.
Pallbearers were Frank Woods, Wesley Good, John Turnis, Leo Winchell, John Wilcox and Jerry Wilcox.
Mrs. Bowie, who died Saturday at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton, is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Winchell of Rome, Ia.; a grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
The daughter of Andrew and Margaret Clements, she was born Oct. 23, 1890 at Wymore Neb.
She was married to George Bowie Oct. 23, 1920 at Newton. She resided in the Seevers area before moving to the Colfax community.
