Asbrene Ellen Oartweig, 75, of Maxwell, died Tuesday of heart failure at Corpus Christi, Texas. Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Congregational United Church of Christ, Baxter, with the Rev. Charles Holmgren officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Baxter.
Asbrene Caukins was born at Marion County to William and Mossie (Brady) Caukins. She was raised in Knoxville and attended Knoxville schools. She married Harlan Oartweig at Davenport in 1938. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Harlan Oartweig of Maxwell; two daughters, Mary Coate of Maxwell, and Marie Young of Chelan, Wash.; a son, William Oartweig of Newton; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m.
Boyd-David Funeral Home, Baxter, is in charge of the arrangements.
