Lucille Fern Skinner, 87, of rural Maxwell, died Monday from complications of pneumonia at her home. Services were today at Loring United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Carlson officiating. Burial was in Ashton Cemetery northeast of Mingo.
Lucille Fern Skinner was born May 27, 1914, near Mingo, the daughter of Jacob and Katherine (Altes) Baldwin. She graduated from Mingo High School in 1932. She taught in several rural schools. She married Howard Skinner March 5, 1938, in Farrar. She farmed with her husband and owned a floral shop in Maxwell for more than 15 years. She worked at Bournes in Ames and RR Donnelly in Nevada. She was a member of Loring United Methodist Church and the ICU Neighborhood Club.
She is survived by one son, James H. Skinner of White Oak; one daughter, Marla Kay Barnes of Mitchellville; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Ione Dykstra of Cambridge.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Memorials may be directed to Loring United Methodist church.
Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell is in charge of arrangements.
