Howard Skinner, 87, of rural Maxwell, died Monday of kidney failure at his home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Loring United Methodist church with the Rev. Don Carlson officiating. Burial will be in Ashton Cemetery near Mingo.
Howard Skinner was born Oct. 23, 1914, near Mingo, the son of Arthur and Gladys (Parker) Skinner. He graduated from Mingo High School in 1934. He married Lucille Baldwin March 5, 1938, in Farrar. He was a farmer. He also worked for the Little Giant Crane Company of Des Moines, retiring in 1979. He was a member of Loring United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille, one son, James H. Skinner of White Oak, one daughter, Marla Kay Barnes of Mitchellville, seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Visitation with the family present will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell.
Memorials may be directed to the Loring United Methodist Church.
Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell is in charge of arrangements.
