Roma Lee (Talbot) Harper, 87, of Des Moines, died on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A private family burial will be held at a later date.

Roma, the daughter of Harold Everett and Mary Ester (Romans) Talbot, was born on September 17, 1934, in Newton, Iowa. She lived in Newton until 1971 before moving to Des Moines where she lived for the remainder of her life. Roma retired from Sears, where she worked for over 25 years. In addition to her work, Roma raised eight children. Her children gave her a big family, and she loved her grandchildren and great children a lot. Roma also enjoyed her jewelry, plants, and teddy bears.

Roma is survived by her children, Paulette Jergens of Des Moines; Rick (Debbie) Harper of Tennessee; Doug Harper of Altoona; Jeff Harper (Patty Reynolds Morton) of Newton; Rebekah (Bryan) Springer of Des Moines; Tim Harper of Des Moines; and Danny Harper of Des Moines; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Larimer of Newton; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Harper of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Joel Harper; grandchild, Baby Boy Harper; great-grandson, Tanner Potter; and brother, Jack Larimer.
