Ray Buckley Services Held
Funeral services for Raymond “Richard” Buckley, 78, of Colfax, a longtime resident of the Colfax and Newton communities, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Walters Funeral Home in Colfax.
The Rev. Dick Clark, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Colfax, conducted the services. Burial was in McKeever Cemetery.
Survivors are four sons, Burl Zane and Raymond Lee, both of Colfax, Ralph R. of Knoxville and Arnold V. of Des Moines; seven daughters, Mrs. Dean (Violet) Revell of Newton, Mrs. Deane (Carrie) Paulson of Altoona, Mrs. Delmar (Dorothy) Breckenridge of Newton, Mrs. Roy W. (Jessie) Couch of Newtwon, Mrs. George (Joy) Christen of Independence, Mo., Mrs. Earl (Josephine) Bell of Colfax and Mrs. Clyde (Molly) Warrick of Colfax; 25 children; 21 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Will (Lenna) Blake of Mitchellville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Etta, Dec. 19, 1955.
Mr. Buckley, a retired farmer, was a member of the Plummer Grove Church near Colfax.
The son of Joseph and Susan Alexander Buckley, he was born Feb. 7, 1895 in Colfax.
He was married to Etta May Wickliff Mar. 23, 1916 at Newton.
Mr. Buckley died last Thursday at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
