Maude B. Hotchkiss Dies July 28
Maude B. Hotchkiss, 88, a longtime resident of Colfax, died Saturday at the Jasper County Home southeast of Newton.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Walters Funeral Home in Colfax.
The Rev. Robert Jones, pastor of the Colfax Christian Church, conducted the services. Burial was in McKeever Cemetery, north of Colfax.
Survivors are a granddaughter, Mrs. Al (Virginia) Sauer Jr. of Miami, Fla., and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hotchkiss, a night operator for the Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 32 years, retired in 1950.
The daughter of George Levi and Atlanta Minerva Neff Plummer, she was born June 23, 1885 in Colfax.
Organist, Mrs. Frank B. Evans accompanied the soloist, Mrs. Darrold Hunter.
Bearers were Carroll Acton, Gerald Bauer, Tom Mindham, Roge Ruggless, Ross Ruggless, and Alan Wheeler.
Flowers: Mrs. Carroll Acton, Mrs. Mable Pickles.
