Orval Yoakum Died January 24
Orval Yoakum, 80, of Knoxville, a former resident of Colfax and Monroe, died last Wednesday, Jan. 24 at Collins memorial Hospital in Knoxville.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Assembly of God Church in Knoxville. Burial was in Graham Cemetery in Mingo.
Survivors are his wife, Ethel; three sons, Paul and Clarence, both of Colfax, and Lloyd Dale of Baltimore, Md.; a daughter, Mary Jane Altes of Pleasantville; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ruth De Graff of Des Moines; and two brothers, Morris of Colfax and john of Knoxville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Mr. Yoakum, a retired farmer, also had been employed at the Automatic Washer Co. in Newton.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Yoakum, he was born March 10, 1892 in Monroe.
He was married to Ethel McCuen Feb. 26, 1913 at Monroe.
