Walter Geisler died at his home in Maxwell, Friday morning, August 19th, following a prolonged illness at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 6 days.
He was the son of John E. Geisler and Katherine Enabuit Geisler, born at Mingo, May 13, 1891.
Survivors are his wife, Hazel; four sons, Gayle of Des Moines, Clifford and Bill of Colo and Francis of Nevada, two daughters, Mrs. Harvey De Vault (Zerelda) of Colo and Mrs. B. L. Wilson (June) of Des Moines, eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Oscar (Rose) Jones of Reinbeck, Mrs. Emma Hay of Collins and Mrs. Viola Lozier of Hollywood, Calif., two brothers, John of Collins and Louis of Ankeny, a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Geisler had farmed all his life in the Maxwell and Mingo communities until ill health forced his retirement.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21 in the Maxwell Methodist Church with Rev. Dale Ellsworth officiating.
Don Meyers accompanied by Elaine Mohr at the organ furnished the music.
The floral arrangements were in charge of Mrs. Rhoda brown, Mrs. Joe Aldrich and Mrs. Albert Link Jr.
Bearers were Rickey Geisler, Larry Osmundson, Robert Mindham, Danny Geisler, Kenneth Geisler and Douglas De Vault. Burial was in the Graham Cemetery at Mingo.
