James Oscar Galloway Dies Saturday
James Oscar Galloway, 71, a lifelong resident of Mingo, died Saturday, Oct. 11, at Mingo.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist church in Mingo.
The Rev. Lester Hesseltine, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Burial was in the Graham Cemetery in Mingo.
Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax handled arrangements.
Survivors are his wife, Maxine; a son, James of Chester; two daughters, Mrs. Fenton (Marie) Bradley of Rochester, Minn., and Mrs. William (Dorothy) Peters of Cresco; eight grandchildren; and two brothers, Archie of Mazeppa, Minn., and Leo of Spring Valley, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Mr. Galloway, who had farmed in the Mingo community, had recently served as sexton of the Sams, Graham, McKeever and Greencastle Cemeteries.
The son of Archibald and Ida Maxwell Galloway, he was born Jan. 27, 1904 in Mingo.
He was married to Maxine Baldwin Nov. 25, 1927 at Baxter.
Soloist – Mrs. John Cleverley.
Organist – Mrs. Rodney Altes.
Bearers – Wayne Klyn, Raymond Link, Leo Pohlman, Carroll Rumbaugh, Charles Skinner and Delmar Sparks.
Flowers _ Mrs. Harold Geisler, Mrs. Wayne Klyn and Mrs. Loren Penquite.
