Death of Mrs. George Streeter
Nancy Dunlap Morehead, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Morehead was born in Allamakee county, Iowa, August 28, 1853 and departed this life March 12, 1928 at the age of 74 yrs. 6 months and 13 days.
In 1864 she came to Jasper county with her parents and on April 14th 1872 was united in marriage to Geo. Streeter and moved to Des Moines, Iowa where she resided for 30 years or more. To this union was born nine children, three of whom died in infancy. The husband died about twenty-five years ago and one son, James Streeter died several years later.
She leaves to mourn her death four daughters and one son, Mrs. Hattie Franklin of Cambridge with whom the deceased has made her home for several years, Mrs. Ida Robinette, Mrs. Ina Render, Mrs. Clara Bonifield and Earl Streeter, all of Des Moines. Also one sister Mrs. Margaret Couch of Colfax and one brother, Samuel A. Moorehead of Des Moines, 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren besides many friends and neighbors in the communities in which she had lived.
The services were conducted by Rev. Perkins of the Mingo M.E. church at the Ashton Chapel last Wednesday, March 11 and was laid to rest in the Ashton cemetery. The pall bearers were Blaine Mullihan, Ivan Mullihan, Lincoln tiffany, Charlie Maxwell, Bud Borts and Ira Bittner.
